How to Bill for a Car Seat Evaluation
How do I bill for the time when I perform a car seat-evaluation for a patient with developmental and cognitive delays, who has outgrown current car-seat recommendations and specifications? I see in the CPT book CPT code 97542 – Wheelchair management (eg, assessment, fitting, training), each 15 minutes. Is this the CPT code I should be using for the car seat evaluation and the time I spend training regarding the safe placement of the individual in the car seat, as well as services that involve making proper adjustments to the various attachments and straps, including placing the car seat in the vehicle?
