ICD-10-CM became effective with dates of service on and after October 1, 2015, yet many physical and occupational therapists, coders and other staff responsible for the submission of a claim to an insurance carrier still have many questions concerning ICD-10-CM at it applies to outpatient physical and occupational therapy services. This 2-hour webinar is intended for the beginner to immediate physical and occupational therapist and/or coder and will thoroughly explain and answer many of the questions that you may have concerning the 7th character and when is one required and which one do I use, Excludes1 and Excludes2 meanings, how to select the correct ICD-10-CM code(s) based on the physician’s order and/or therapist initial evaluation documentation, and the difference between ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and what an insurance carrier requires.

- Describe the difference between Not Elsewhere Classified (NEC) and Not Otherwise Specified (NOS)
- Apply ICD-10 coding concepts to diagnoses and conditions seen in outpatient orthopedic physical and occupational therapy
- Be able to report and bill ICD-10 codes correctly for orthopedic conditions
- Understand the impact of ICD-10 coding to the physical and occupational therapy practice
- Identify documentation issues pertinent to PT and OT services as it applies to ICD-10-CM
