FY 2025 ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Codes
The fiscal year (FY)2025 ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes have been released. These 2025 ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes are to be used for outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy visits that occur between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025. In this article, I will highlight some of the additions to the FY 2025 ICD-10-CM that may have an impact on physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy services.

FY 2022 ICD-10 Changes Effective October 1, 2021
The fiscal year (FY) 2022 ICD-10-CM codes are to be used for patient encounters occurring from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022 as well as for discharges occurring from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022. ICD-10-CM codes are used by physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists not only to report the physicians’ medical diagnosis(es) for therapy services, but where allowed, a therapy and/or treatment diagnosis(es) of why a patient requires outpatient physical, occupational and/or speech therapy services. New ICD-10-CM Codes Take Effect October 1, 2020
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released ICD-10-CM for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 on their website. These 2021 ICD-10-CM codes are to be used for discharges occurring from October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021 and for patient encounters occurring from October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021.
