Providers of outpatient physical therapy services who specialize in pelvic health continue to have questions which ICD-10 code(s) they should use and what documentation they should have in the medical record to support the ICD-10 code(s) utilized on the claim form. This 2-hour webinar program will focus completely on pelvic health case scenarios seen by physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in the outpatient therapy setting.

This 2-hour webinar program will build upon the basics of ICD-10 by providing in-depth ICD-10 coding and documentation scenarios for physical therapy services with a focus on pelvic health conditions. Conditions discussed will include, but are not limited to:

  • Low back pain in pregnancy
  • Incontinence (stress, urge, mixed)
  • Fecal incontinence
  • Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome
  • Vaginismus
  • Pelvic pain (Endometriosis, Dyspareunia, Prostatitis, SI Joint Dysfunction)
  • Diastasis recti post-partum
  • Coccydynia
  • Pediatric nocturia

A hands-on approach using case scenarios will be used to teach participants what key words must be documented and how to select the most appropriate ICD-10 codes to place on the claim based on their documentation. In addition, the webinar will discuss when the 7th character is required and distinguish between the initial encounter, subsequent encounter and sequela. This intermediate to advanced session includes coding resources and additional tips related to transitioning to ICD-10.
