TRICARE Place of Service Update for Telemedicine Claims

Health Net Federal Services, LLC (HNFS), who is the TRICARE West Region Contractor, has provided an update on what place of service (POS) code to use on the 1500-claim form when providing a telehealth visit. HNFS is now asking providers to use the POS that represents In addition, HNFS has provided an update on reimbursement and resubmission of claims. Humana Expands Telehealth to Include Therapy Services

This article was updated on May 28, 2020 Humana will now cover telehealth services for outpatient therapy services provided by physical therapists, physical therapists assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and speech-language pathologists. Humana states they will always follow the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) telehealth or state-specific requirements that apply to telehealth coverage for our insurance products. Since CMS now covers telehealth when provided by physical therapists, physical therapists assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and speech-language pathologists in all outpatient therapy settings (both private practice and institutional settings), at minimum, Humana will now cover the same.

Cigna Updates Telehealth Guidance

On May 13, 2020, American Specialty Health Group, Inc. (ASH Group) released updated guidance on the billing of telehealth services to current Cigna Customers. ASH Group states to use this revised Notice as a guide on how to bill for telehealth services during via this interim process. This interim process will be effective for dates of services retroactive to March 2, 2020 going forward through at least May 31, 2020.
