UHC Community Plan Revises Outpatient Therapy Policy
UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Community Plan has revised their outpatient therapy policy. Summary of changes include the following:
- How long UHC Community Plan can authorize outpatient therapy for
- What must be included in requests for continuation of therapy visits
- How often a reevaluation must be performed
- How you must document time in your daily note
- Patient receiving multiple therapy services (physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy) at same time

Would you be able to clarify if this new Prior authorization is being used in the SNF for managed Medicare B patients? It was not supposed to be the process however we are receiving conflicting reports of this process now required in the SNF.
You need to read the policies and it says who it applies to.
