I receive several questions per week regarding the supervision requirements of student physical, occupational and speech therapists, student physical therapist assistants and student occupational therapy assistants when they are treating Medicare patients.     1. Medicaid is not the same as traditional Medicare. You would need to look at your state Medicaid plan.

  1. How do the rules apply to provisional license holders that have graduated but not yet passed the boards?

    1. Once a student graduates, they are no longer a student so this article would not apply to them. They are also not a therapist since they are not licensed.
