Therapists, assistants, practice owners, therapy directors and managers, office managers, billers, and billing companies do not understand how the multiple procedure payment reduction (MPPR) is calculated, how MPPR impacts your payment, and how MPPR impacts all disciplines of therapy provided on the same date of service by the same therapy practice or organization.
This 1-hour webinar will teach participants what the multiple procedure payment reduction (MPPR) policy is, how MPPR is applied to the CPT codes by the Medicare contractor, which CPT codes MPPR applies to, how to calculate the MPPR reduction, and how MPPR impacts all therapy disciplines provided the same date of service by the same practice or organization.
Examples will be provided to show participants how MPPR impacts payment when a patient is receiving 1 discipline of therapy on a date of service, 2 disciplines of therapy on the same date of service, and all 3 disciplines of therapy on the same date of service.
At the conclusion of this webinar presentation, participants will be able to:
- Conclude which relative value unit the multiple procedure payment reduction policy impacts
- Recall the percent reduction of the practice expense relative value unit under MPPR
- Calculate how the Medicare program applies the MPPR reduction to each unit of each CPT code
- Understand which CPT codes the MPPR policy applies to
- Recognize the claim adjustment reason code identifying the multiple procedure payment reduction
