You’ve received the patient referral, now what? It is often that providers and front end staff will input the bare essentials once they receive the referral. Incomplete or not fully understood information can lead to less than perfect claim processing. This course will teach therapists and providers how to better understand which insurance to choose, how to do a proper therapy/provider specific insurance review, educate on pertinent information in regards to Medicare plans and how to recognize the many facets of Medicare plans, and what you should know when asking for authorization for services from insurers and their third party contractors. Learn what information is needed in a proper front end entry to help you get paid what you deserve the first time through.
At the conclusion of this online course, participants will be able to:
- Identify what demographics and insurance information is necessary for proper claim processing
- Be able to do a proper physical/occupational therapy specific insurance review for ALL insurance plans and document this properly
- Understand what data is imperative to review from a Medicare Eligibility Report and how this can affect your payment
- Describe the differences between supplemental vs replacement or advantage plans and Medicare RailRoad
- Be able to identify who needs authorization and how to proceed and get all your codes authorized
