With the COVID-19 pandemic and Stay-at-Home orders issued in many states, many private practices and facilities are seeing cancellation rates as high as 60%-70% or they have had to temporarily close their clinics and some may not be able to withstand the financial crisis and reopen when COVID-19 ceases. To meet the needs of their clients, many therapists, private practices and facilities have initiated telehealth services; however, may not be doing it correctly in terms of consent forms, platform being utilized, policies and procedures, documentation, CPT coding and billing.
This webinar will teach participants about consent forms, documenting patient consent to receive telehealth services and to be recorded, policies and procedures that must be in place, HIPAA compliant platforms and models of delivery of telehealth services, CPT codes and modifiers to be used on the claim form, payment amounts from insurance carriers and providing telehealth services across state lines.
At the conclusion of this webinar presentation, participants will be able to:
- Understand and be able to explain the terms and models of telehealth used in physical therapy
- Explain the different systems used to deploy telehealth in their practice and within the compact and technology
- Describe how to implement telehealth into their patient’s journey
- Understand the documentation that must be present in the medical record to support patient consent and treatment rendered
- Recite what CPT code(s) can be used to bill for telehealth services
- Select the appropriate modifier(s) that be used on the claim form for telehealth services
- Explain the legality of providing telehealth services across state lines
