I’m looking for information on whether or not a PTA can bill the selective debridement codes without a PT assessing the wound each visit? For example, if the PT has instructed the PTA on what dressing changes, enzymatic debridement, etc are indicated, can that PTA bill 97597 and/or 97598 without the PT on site to assess each visit (in Kentucky). Thank you.
You would want to contact your state licensing board for this question as well as review your state practice act.
