NCCI Edits Version 24.2 Now Available

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits effective with dates of service July 1, 2018 – September 30, 2018 is now available for my Gold Members. The outpatient therapy specific NCCI edit “cheat sheet” is available HERE. Please make sure to log into your account to access the “cheat sheet”.

  1. I know we use the 59 modifier to demonstrate distinct and separate services with timed codes.
    We also use the 59 modifier when we bill biofeedback with neuromuscular re-education. But what is the modifier identifying here since biofeedback is not a timed code? Does documentation still need to show separate and distinct treatment or can both treatments be done together?
