In this article, I will provide information on the number of units billed for the most common CPT codes billed by physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists to the Medicare program for calendar years 2022, 2023, and 2024. I will also provide you with the amount of money the Medicare program reimbursed for each CPT code for calendar years 2022, 2023, and 2024.

What makes you say that comment based on this article?
Rick, I don’t see either 97150 or 92508 group therapy codes. I know that at least several 97150’s were billed to Medicare as I was the patient and Medicare was the payer. Thanks
I do not list every CPT code. The group codes are lower in terms of units billed and dollars reimbursed. For example, in 2024, only 6,934 of 92508 were billed and 2,708,055 of 97150 were billed.
Rick I looked at the average payments for the most commonly used codes and most are less $20.
Keep in mind that Medicare reimburses 80% of the allowed and not 100%. In addition, you have to factor in MPPR. Lastly, the amounts take into consideration all 112 localities.
