How would you bill for ischemic pre-conditioning with BFR? For IPC, the patient has the cuff inflated to 100% occlusion and monitored for 5-10 min.
This is to gauge tolerance but also get the systemic benefits without exercising.
During this time, you could be working on another limb or providing education which is all billable. What about the time you’re on IPC and other interventions aren’t performed?
Rick did APTA NY finally announce whether BFR is within the scope of practice for PT’s in NY?
