HHS Extends Public Health Emergency

On July 15, 2022, Xavier Becerra, Secr​etary of Health and Human Services, extended the public health emergency (PHE) due to COVID-19. The new expiration date is the end of the day on October 13, 2022. So what does this extension mean for outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy services? Read below to learn more!

  1. If I am reading paragraph four correctly the supervision of a PTA via audio/video communication is NOT extended to Oct. 13, 2022?

    1. If you read the answer to the last question, it gives you the exact expiration date of the revised supervision requirements.
