CMS Releases SNF FY 2026 Proposed Rule
On April 11, 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) proposed rule. HIghlights of the proposed rule include:
- Update SNF Prospective Payment System by 2.8%
- Proposing several changes to the PDPM ICD-10 code mappings
- Request for Information seeking public input on approaches and opportunities to streamline regulations and reduce burdens on those participating in the Medicare program
- CMS is proposing a series of operational and administrative proposals regarding the SNF Value-Based Purchasing Program
- Proposed updates to the SNF Quality Reporting Program
