CMS Releases IRF FY 2026 Proposed Rule
On April 11, 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 proposed rule. Highlights of the proposed rule include:
- Update the IRF Prospective Payment System (PPS) rate by 2.6%
- Updates to the IRF Quality Reporting Program (QRP) pay-for reporting program
- Request for Information seeking public input on approaches and opportunities to streamline regulations and reduce burdens on those participating in the Medicare program
